Definición

  • One of the qualities that a nomenclatural system should have: The system must have a coherence, an internal logic and an elegance that make it easily assimilated by anyone who makes a real effort to understand it. This means that useless complications should be avoided, but not necessary complexities that are imposed by the particularities of the matter themselves. An important source of complication of any nomenclatural system is the existence of numerous exceptions to the general rules. A good nomenclatural system must be in force in the vast majority of situations and must not include a forest of exceptions, for if the latter are too numerous they obscure the generality of the rules and their normative value. (Dubois 2005c)
