National Incident-Based Reporting System

Définition(s)

  • The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is the new format used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to collect crime data from law enforcement agencies as part of its Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. NIBRS is replacing the previous format for reporting UCR Program data known as “the summary reporting system.” For the summary reporting system, law enforcement agencies submitted aggregate crime counts.
