Corrections are those sentencing options for someone who has been convicted of a crime and can include financial penalties and reimbursement (fines and restitution), community/public service hours, community-based sanctions (probation, parole, or house arrest), intermediate sanctions (work-release and restitution centers, boot camp programs), institutional corrections (jails and prisons), and capital punishment (the death penalty).
