intergenerational family relationships

Définition(s)

  • Ties between the generations have been of great interest throughout recorded history, as demonstrated by the central role of these relationships in popular works of fiction as varied as Shakespeare's plays in the 16th century and Bernhard Schlink's novel Homecoming and the television series Everybody Loves Raymond in the 21st century. Not surprisingly, both clinicians and scholars have devoted substantial effort to describing and explaining relations among family members in different generations.
