  • Council of Directors of School Psychology Programs (CDSPP) was formed in 1977 to coincide with similar leadership groups representing clinical psychology (Council of University Directors of Clinical Psychology [CUDCP]), counseling psychology (Council of Counseling Psychology Training Programs [CCPTP]), professional schools (National Council of Schools of Professional Psychology [NCSPP]), and internship organizations (Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers [APPIC]). The mission of the CDSPP is to assist doctoral-level school psychology program directors by:Providing a forum for discussion and dissemination of relevant materialsPromoting and advocating for doctoral-level school psychology training and practiceCommunicating with school psychology organizations such as Division 16 (School Psychology) of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)Participating in meetings such as the Council of Chairs of Training Councils (CCTC) and the APA Board of Educational Affairs (BEA).Membership in the CDSPP has grown from 35 membership institutions in 1978 to 103 in 2004.
