  • Organized in 1906, the National Society for the Promotion of Industrial Education (NSPIE) was formed by business leaders and educators to initiate reform by bringing public attention to the importance of and need for industrial education and to promote the establishment of institutions for industrial training. The organization was the leading group to advance the concept of vocational education and to successfully lobby the U.S. government to federally fund state vocational education programs in secondary schools across the nation.
