Definición
- THE DRIVE TO secure an eight-hour workday for American laborers was championed by many different groups, not the least of which were the Workingmen's Association, the Grand Eight-Hour League of Massachusetts (GEHLM), and the American Federation of Labor. While some of these organizations attempted to negotiate with employers to limit a person's workday to eight hours, others sought to guarantee these labor rights by seeking legislation, often at the state level of government.
