Definición

  • Supreme Court case that may have long-lasting impact on affirmative action and how race may be used in determining job promotions, admission to universities, and other situations in which affirmative action guidelines have been used. The Court's 5-4 decision in Ricci v. DeStefano determined that the city of New Haven, Connecticut, violated the rights of white and Hispanic firefighters when it threw out a promotions test because no blacks had passed it.
