Equal Rights Amendment

Definición

  • The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) aims to affirm that the Constitution of the United States applies equally to all citizens, regardless of their sex. It was written by early feminist and suffragist Alice Paul in 1923, during the 75th anniversary of the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention, and remains one of the most controversial pieces of American legislature.
