Definición

  • An act passed in 1878 in the United States that prohibited members of the federal military and related services (e.g., the army, the air force, the navy, etc.) from exercising the same powers as appointed officers of the peace. The Posse Comitatus Act prevented the federal government from using military personnel and resources for law enforcement purposes.
