Roberts v. City of Boston

Definición

  • Roberts v. City of Boston (1849) was an early challenge to school segregation in Boston, Massachusetts, where a large abolitionist community had experienced some success in seeking equal rights for African Americans. The court found that the school committee had the right to keep separate primary schools for African Americans and Whites, even though doing so was a repugnant distinction of class.
