spatial decision support systems

Definición

  • Spatial decision support systems (SDSS) offer a usercentered approach to help answer a fundamental question of any decision-making activity: which course of action to choose? For many spatial decision situations, this question becomes central to problem solving, including a site selection for a new facility, deciding how to develop a vacant tract of land, or choosing a viable land conservation strategy. SDSS offer analytical tools to help make choices in these and other spatial decision problems by combining analytical functions and tools available in geographic information systems (GIS) with impact models for computing the consequences of various options, multiple criteria evaluation techniques to evaluate the quality of decision options under consideration, and sensitivity analysis to test the robustness of decision recommendation.
