Mesoamerican pre-Columbian beliefs and traditions

Definición

  • Strictly speaking, pre-Columbian cultures refer to American Indigenous groups who thrived on the American continents until the arrival of the Conquistadors (1492) and the posterior European influence. However, the term has a broader application due to the persistence of some native traits after the European conquest and colonization and the incorporation of the native population into the practice of Catholic doctrine and European culture.
