Definición

  • Frisbie v. Butler, 1 Kirby 213 (1787), is a case decided by the Superior Court of Connecticut of Litchfield County in February 1787, in which the entire court voided a general warrant as illegal. The decision showed that colonial criticisms of English practices enforcing such general warrants within the colonies had successfully undermined the authority of such warrants even prior to the writing of the Fourth Amendment in 1789.
