images of homelessness in contemporary documentary film
Definición
- Contemporary documentary images of homelessness and poverty are rooted in early ethnographic studies, WPA interviews, and Depression-era newsreels, as well as advocacy-inspired art such as the photographs of Jacob Riis. Like their predecessors, later documentary images of homelessness are usually concerned with both the aesthetic and the political, often promoting public policy changes at the local or national level.
