  • The Matrix Model is an intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment approach designed for treating individuals who abuse or who are dependent on stimulant drugs, such as cocaine or methamphetamine. This treatment model, developed in 1986 by the Matrix Institute of Los Angeles, California, came about out of a growing need for evidence-based practices in the treatment of stimulant disorders.
