National Clean Up and Paint Up Bureau

Definición

  • From the 1900s through the 1970s, the National Clean Up and Paint Up Bureau sponsored community-wide spring cleanups across the United States, traditionally with parades and other town-wide activities. It impacted the national consciousness through television shows such as a 1950 episode of Our Miss Brooks titled “National Clean-up.” Communities like Philadelphia, Boise, Helena, and Cincinnati competed for a “cleanest city” trophy.
