Newark Foot Patrol Experiment

Definición

  • In the late 1970s, the Police Foundation experimentally assessed the impact of increased police foot patrols on crime, fear of crime, citizen perceptions of police, and police opinions of the public in Newark, New Jersey. Although the foot patrols had little effect on crime, residents' perceptions of crime and the police improved. [Source: Encyclopedia of Street Crime in America; Newark Foot Patrol Experiment]
