The traditional structure of the MBA program, as initiated in the Gilded Age boom of the early 1900s, was that of a two-year program course to instill in the captains of industry the knowledge needed to guide their technical groundwork (typically in engineering) into a practical, human application.The program originated when the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, conferred an advanced degree in commercial science.
