Definición
- In 1992, the citizens of Colorado adopted Amendment 2, which added the following to the Colorado Constitution: Neither the State of Colorado … nor any of its … political subdivisions … shall enact, adopt or enforce any statute, regulation, ordinance or policy whereby homosexual, lesbian or bisexual orientation, conduct, practices or relationships shall constitute or otherwise be the basis of or entitle any person or class of persons to have or claim any minority status, quota preferences, protected status or claim of discrimination. At the time Amendment 2 was adopted, several municipalities, including Aspen, Boulder, and Denver, had already enacted ordinances prohibiting discrimination on grounds of sexual orientation in areas such as employment, education, housing, health and welfare services, and public accommodations.
