Definición

  • According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), “designer drugs” are synthesized chemicals used to create drugs of abuse that mimic the effects of illegal stimulants and hallucinogens such as cocaine, marijuana, and amphetamine. The term designer drug can be used indiscriminately to refer to a variety of recreational, contemporary drugs of abuse that are synthetically created (i.e., human-made), such as bath salt products, lysergic acid diethylamide (i.e., LSD or “acid”), and 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (i.e., MDMA or Ecstasy).
