Definición

  • Effectiveness in interpersonal relationships based on (a) self-acceptance, the degree to which the individual has self-confidence; (b) confirmation, the result of others experiencing the person as that person experiences self, thus leading to self-confidence; and (c) essentiality, the use of one's central abilities and the expression of one's central needs, leading to commitment. These conditions facilitate the behaviors of owning up to or accepting responsibility for one's ideas and feelings; being open to the ideas and feelings of others and those from within one's self; experimenting with new ideas and feelings; and helping others own up to and be open and experiment with their ideas or feelings.
