- Crimes against humanity is a term that came into prominence at the Nuremberg Trials in 1946. It includes crimes such as slavery; genocide; mass deportations or displacement of a group of people; the cultural or physical extermination of a group of people due to their race, religion, or political affiliation; and rape and torture.
