Sutherland-Tappan debate
Definición
- The Sutherland-Tappan debate occurred during the 1940s between the sociologist and criminologist Edwin H. Sutherland and Paul W. Tappan, a sociologist and lawyer. The debate centered on the issue of how criminal behavior should be defined, as well as the implications a particular definition had, once adopted, for criminology as a science.
