Joseph McCarthy

Definición

  • Joseph McCarthy's (1908–1957) controversial political career began with his surprising victory over Robert La Follette for the senatorial nomination; yet, he is perhaps best known for his political focus during the 1950s on the infiltration of communists in American public institutions. McCarthy's anticommunist movement was largely referred to as “McCarthyism.” Joseph McCarthy was born November 14, 1908, on a farm in Appleton, Wisconsin.
