  • According to the American Association for Health Education, education plays a significant role in health promotion and prevention of diseases, injuries, and premature death in children. The 2007 National Health Education Standards were developed to give school districts flexibility in identifying which health risk categories and traditional content areas are most pertinent and important for their students and what should be included in the local academic curriculum.
