National Organization for Women

Definición

  • The National Organization for Women (NOW), since its founding in 1966, has been the preeminent organization in the United States fighting for women's rights and equality. Like other feminists active in the 1960s and 1970s, NOW understood that the political, economic, and social challenges that women faced were rooted in derogatory perceptions of womanhood and femininity, notions whose eradication was central to the realization of women's equality.
