Concept information
Preferred term
international victims' rights movement
Definition(s)
- Although diverse international initiatives have led to more standardized practices across countries, adopting a global perspective on the victims' movement is still a stretch as there might be more than one victims' movement. Because of varying legal, social, and cultural contexts and traditions, victims' movements grew apart in different countries.
