- Conscientiousness, one of the Big Five dimensions, is thought to involve orderliness, dutifulness, achievement striving, self-control, and purposefulness. As such, high-conscientious persons are seen as dependable, self-disciplined, organized, and determined, whereas low-conscientious persons are undependable and easily distracted from tasks.
