  • This test, which was developed by Howard Levene (1960), is a one-way analysis of variance on the absolute deviation of each score from the mean of its group in which the scores of the groups are unrelated. It is an F test in which the population estimate of the variance between the groups is compared with the population estimate of the variance within the groups.
