household hazardous waste
Definition(s)
- Household hazardous waste consists of a variety of commercial products used in the home, such as cleaning supplies, pesticides, and pool chemicals, that are dangerous to human health or the environment and end up in the waste stream. The disposal of these products by homeowners is not regulated by most state and local governments, as long as the products are meant to be used in the home by residents.
