  • Typhoid fever is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium salmonella typhi, which multiplies in the bloodstream and gets excreted out via the digestive tract. After an incubation period of 10 to 20 days, patients present with persistent high fever, chills, sweating, coughing, lack of appetite, severe headache, low heart rate, constipation, and other symptoms.
