- The National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions is a longitudinal study that was conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The survey collected information about present and past alcohol use, alcohol use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and the use of treatment services for alcohol abuse, as well as basic demographic information and information related to tobacco and illicit drug use.
