- Crime science is the application of scientific method to the reduction of crime. Here, crime means volume crime such as theft and burglary, violent crime such as homicide and assault (including terrorism), antisocial behavior such as vandalism and graffiti, and that collection of behaviors falling under the often poorly defined category of organized crime.
