rape crisis centers
Definition(s)
- Rape crisis centers (RCCs) are probably the oldest community-based intervention programs for sexual assault survivors. Even though they are primarily focused on providing services to rape victims and on educating communities about sexual violence, because they were first conceptualized by feminist activists, one of their initial inspirations was to change a society that encouraged the (sexual) oppression of women.
