  • IN 1992, THROUGH recognition of a need for more complete local, state, regional, and national cancer incidence data, Congress established the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by enacting the Cancer Registries Amendment Act (Public Law 102–515).
