- Systems analysts are white-collar expert workers involved in the planning, design, execution, implementation, and maintenance of complex technical systems. Systems analysts operate across a wide spectrum of fields such as software and computing, defense contracting, transport and infrastructure systems, mechanical and electrical engineering, and database and information management (typically for corporate accounting purposes or customer data analysis).
