Definition(s)

  • Organizational rhetoric is persuasionand identification-oriented discursive practice as it is used by members in their interactions within organizational contexts. We define organizational context as the rhetorical situation, comprising, first, an urgent issue, second, an audience the rhetor addresses by means of a text, and third, the constraints, such as power and time, that affect the rhetor and can be brought to bear on the identity of the audience.
