Crime Victims Fund

- In 1984, with the passing of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), the Crime Victims Fund was established by the federal government to protect the rights of victims. The Crime Victims Fund was created in order to provide federal assistance to victims of criminal activity with medical expenses, funeral and burial costs, mental health counseling, and lost wages or financial support related to their specific victimization.
