  • Impetigo is a bacterial infection of the skin usually caused by streptococcus or staphylococcus bacteria, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Since both streptococcus and staphylococcus bacteria can be found on the skin, there is a risk of impetigo when there is a break in the skin.
